Notes from a remote island

Some cute venues thereabouts.

I remember a programme a while back that was doing testing around Britian to find out what the genetic background was and The Shetland and Orkney islands were almost pure Norse.

Not a total surprise but the percentages shocked even the scientists.

Paul who’s the girl with you?

She lives down the road at Houbie. Quite a sport, actually

Sing, dance, laugh, weep together. Aly McBain’s from this school.

One’s an outlander hearing it, much of the population is up front.

Lovely workshop  is yours the one complete with rusty skip outside?

Lol, yes.

It’s an old photo though, it’s well gone now

The workshop isn’t finished yet, but it’ll do for now.

Looks nice Paul. I’d happily downsize to that.

Fetlar web cam looks good!

I notice there are quite a few micro wind turbines in view. Have you got one and what are the chances of going partially or fully off grid using wind+solar?

Are there any golf courses?

I only had a brief look at wind power and the capital costs of the turbines are quite high. I think it would take me about 10 years before breaking even. Not really attractive at my age.

Solar would be awesome in summer when you don’t need as much electricity, but dire in winter when demands were high.
